NAPLAN 2021

St Finbarr's NAPLAN results have now been published and students in Year 3 and 5 will receive their individual reports today.  As a school our results across the year levels, in literacy and numeracy, are similar to previous years.

This was the first year all students in Brisbane Catholic Education schools have completed NAPLAN online and the third year that St Finbarr's have completed it online.  NAPLAN online was a tailored test that adapted to student responses, presenting students with questions that may be more or less difficult – resulting in better assessment and more precise results.

For this reason, the data collected from NAPLAN 2021 provides St Finbarr's with important baseline information to better understand the strengths and opportunities for growth of our students and to evaluate school programs to ensure they are best meeting our students’ needs.

St Finbarr's results reflect students in Year 3 and 5 are all at or above the national minimum standard in all areas of literacy and numeracy.

As a school:

  • All students are well above the Australian National Average in all subject areas
  • All students are well above the Brisbane Catholic Education average in all subject areas

In Year 3:

In Year 3 the minimum standard is a band 2, therefore if students are working in bands 3 or above they are above the minimum standard. They do not report above a band 6 in Year 3. Please see graph.
